1. 近年來，有越來越多超級颱風，通常造成嚴重災害。

In recent years, there have been more and more hyper typhoons, usually giving rise to severe damage. 

2. 颱風來襲時，我們應準備足夠的食物，並待在室內，若有必要，應迅速移動至安全的地方。

When typhoon comes assaulting us, we are supposed to prepare sufficient food and stay indoors. If necessary, we should quickly move to a safe place. 

二、英文作文（占20分）

說明︰1.依提示在「答案卷」上寫一篇英文作文。

2.文長至少120個單詞（words）。

排隊雖是生活中常有的經驗，但我們也常看到民眾因一時好奇或基於嘗鮮心理而出現大排 長龍（form a long line）的現象，例如景點初次開放或媒體介紹某家美食餐廳後，人們便蜂擁而至。請以此種一窩蜂式的「排隊現象」為題，寫一篇英文作文。第一段，以個人、親友 的經驗或報導所聞為例，試描述這種排隊情形；第二段，說明自己對此現象的心得或感想。

It is not an uncommon phenomenon for us to behold a group of people waiting in the long line within our society. By definition, this could result from the commercial manipulation, coupled with people’s strong willingness or curiosity to access what they want. Overall, it is hard to determine whether this behavior is accurate or wrong. After all, this situation is founded on people’s desire to satisfy their own needs, and, in particular, it is not an activity contradictory to the stipulation of law. As for me, I ever participated in a long line, for the sake of meeting a cartoonist from Japan, who is eminent for his creative and nearly impeccable skills in making cartoon pictures. Profoundly impressed by his ingenious skills in the spectrum of cartoon industry, I longed to confront this great author to experience his superb philosophy. By doing so, perhaps I may more readily locate the reason for his success.  

Now let me further depict how I feel toward this sort of event, waiting in the long line. Perhaps some people will very likely interpret this deed as absurd and full of excessive mania, not realistic enough to face so-called real life. However, I am in possession of a concept contradictory to that concept. That is, we may, to some extent, foster our patience while staying in the long line. This characteristic, widely known to us, plays a pivotal role in our success. Another benefit of staying in the long line is the inspiration derived from what we see or have. For example, standing right in front of our icon or facing what we really adore may be of great inspiration to us for our further pursuit. And that is how I look at the issue of staying in the long line, positive rather than negative.
